Autograph Letter Signed  as President of the Congress, Philadelphia, April 2, 1779, to Gen. Benjamin Lincoln, letter of introduction and recommendation of Major Clarkson. Jay acknowledges he is not personally acquainted with Lincoln but is "so well informed" of his character  "..as to believe you will always be happy in leading a young soldier to glory, and to afford him that countenance and protection which a brave and generaous youth seldom fails to invite". He adds that Jay will be obligated to Lincoln "by becoming is friend as well as his general". For more information visit Ed Bomsey Autographs, Inc. by clicking here
